The Longview Police Foundation is governed by volunteer community leaders who contribute their time, experience, and perspective to advance the Foundation's mission.
The Board of Directors is responsible for organizational governance, financial oversight, strategic direction, donor stewardship, and ensuring that Foundation resources are used in furtherance of its charitable purposes.

Anthony Boone
PRESIDENT
Anthony Boone began his career with the Longview Police Department in 2001 and was promoted to Police Chief in 2022. He previously served as Assistant Chief, leading the Operations and Support Operations Bureaus and working closely with community leaders and regional law-enforcement agencies. Chief Boone holds a Master’s Degree from Tarleton State University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas. He also completed the U.S. Secret Service Dignitary Protection School. As Chief, he is committed to Providing Professional Policing and works alongside his team to uphold this standard while serving the Longview community.
Julie Woods
VICE PRESIDENT
Julie Brogoitti Woods is a longtime Longview resident, business owner, and community advocate dedicated to serving her community. She is the owner and broker of Julie Woods & Associates Real Estate Firm, which she founded in 2010, and currently serves as Chairwoman of the Longview Economic Development Corporation. Active in numerous civic and community organizations, Julie works alongside local leaders, businesses, nonprofits, and public servants to strengthen Longview. Her respect for law enforcement and commitment to public safety led to her involvement with the Longview Police Department Foundation, where she supports resources, training, equipment, and initiatives that benefit officers and the community. Julie and her husband, Quentin, have raised their three children in Longview and remain deeply committed to the community they call home.
Melanie Matthews
SECRETARY
Melanie Mathews is a longtime human resources executive and community advocate with more than 30 years of experience serving people and strengthening organizations. She currently serves as Vice President of Human Resources for Martin Resource Management Corporation, providing leadership and support for nearly 2,000 employees across 28 states. Melanie also serves as Chairman of the Board for The Martin House Children’s Advocacy Center, reflecting her commitment to supporting children, families, and strong community partnerships. She holds a degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Southern Mississippi. Melanie and her husband, Chris, and their two adult sons, are proud to call East Texas home and remain dedicated to investing in and strengthening their community.
Linda Shawn
TREASURER
Linda Shawn, CPA, serves as the Treasurer, anchoring the organization’s financial oversight with over 30 years of professional experience in public accounting. Linda’s true professional passion lies in managing accounting and tax needs for small businesses and non-profits. An alumna of Kilgore College and UT Tyler, she also serves as Treasurer for the Sabine ISD Education Foundation and Cardinals for A Cause. Raised with a high respect for public service and law officers, Linda is deeply invested in community advocacy. She and her husband, Eddie – a retired principal and current Sabine ISD school board member – are proud longtime supporters of local education and community initiatives.
Dr. Andy Mack
DIRECTOR
Dr. Andy Mack is a lifelong Longview native and oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has served the community since 1989. His commitment to Longview extends beyond his medical practice, including nine years on the Longview City Council and nine years as Mayor. A longtime advocate for public safety, Dr. Mack believes supporting Longview’s law-enforcement professionals and their families strengthens the entire community. Through his involvement with the Longview Police Department Foundation, he continues his lifelong commitment to service by helping provide resources and support where traditional city funding may fall short. Dr. Mack and his wife, Kelly, have been married for 42 years and are proud parents and grandparents.
Dr. Braden King

Braden King is a lifelong East Texan who was born and raised in Longview, where he developed a strong appreciation for service, hard work, and community investment. He works in commercial lending with Texas Bank and Trust, partnering with business owners and community leaders throughout East Texas to help businesses grow and succeed. Braden is committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen Longview and currently serves on the Longview Police Foundation board. He is proud to support the men and women of the Longview Police Department and their families by helping provide resources, strengthen community partnerships, and promote public safety. Braden and his family are proud to call Longview home and remain dedicated to its continued growth and prosperity.
